My Energy Source

I was at M.S.M = Mushroom Park - Spagettic - Melting Pot

Monday evening was my 1st time @ Mushroom Park Serangoon Gardens. It's pretty good for a de-toxifying meal, each pax about $30++.

Tuesday lunch had a rich lunch @ Spageddies Italian Kitchen Paragon, most likely I am compensating for the mushroom dinner which was too healthy. *giggles*

Wednesday lunch had buffet lunch @ Melting Pot Holiday Inn Atrium. Can't help not eating as I was on course and lunch's provided. Hehehe. My excuses to indulge in good food at home and outside as well. :D

Amazing Grace

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. It is indeed so true. The ineffable joy in me is the outcome of the retreat at CSC. Amazing is His grace, great is His power, infinite is His love, mighty is His strength, essential is His word. This is my first retreat but surely it would not be my last. :D Thank GOD!

I have gotten to know three Fathers and several new friends, they have been wonderful, supportive and friendly! Thank you for all the sharing, kindness and love! Will meet up soon! :D God bless you always!

"Starry" Night

My company's D & D event, "You are a star", was held @ Zouk. It's very tiring indeed, firstly, you don't get to sit unless you are at the VIP area. I felt pitiful for some older people who weren't able to find seats.

I was an Indian Chinese for the night. Who was the bollywood star? It's none other than Aishwarya Rai (Ash). A name tagged along with true beauty which many have been mesmerised. Ixo & Pris looked stunning! :)

When the clock strikes 12 midnight, the music stops, the dancing stops, the drinking stops but the supper begins! We headed to Goodwood Park Hotel for porride supper. Yummy! Can't believe it but I had 1 and 1/2 bowls of porridge! *giggles* Poh Gee, thanks for the treat.

I was zombified the next day @ work, as I slept less than 3 hours. That day itself @ office, I was a star too. But a soon to be extinct star, the Panda!

*Poof* and the weekend's over!

The great exhaustion from the 2 days KL work trip has literally caused me to sleep my Saturday afternoon away. I only managed to head out of the house at 7+pm. Surin and I intended to dine @ Turquoise Bistro around ECP, but to our dismay it was closed at 830pm (wondered if it has closed down or what). Then zoomed back to Siglap, had dinner at Kong Kong Street Restuarant and we realised this branch's standard is no where near Novena's one. First time & last time.

Next stop, The Turquoise Room @ Gillman, a nice place just to relax. Good fudgey brownie with Gelato. *drools* :D Headed to Mustafa to ask the lady for the proper steps to wear a saree. Thereafter, it's Arab street! And oh yes, I didn't manage to sleep, must be the mint tea (caffeine)!

Sleep deficiency did not stop me from going out on Sunday. After church, headed to Siglap. Had jap lunch wif Bert (on MC *giggles*) @ iGen Dining. Well, I won't go back there again. Guess you know what I mean. We decided to go non-Orchardised places (i.e. non modernised trendy shopping malls), thus went to Chinatown. Better ventation indeed after the renovation of People Park's Complex. :) Was looking for a gold bag to match my saree, couldn't find any decent one. I only can bet a trip down to Tangs for my gold bag hunt. Yup, managed to get one. And it's dinner @ TCC, Shaw House.

My weekend's over and a new week begins.

Happy 1st Birthday Thaddeus

After work and it's birthday celebrations @ Ixo's place. Handsome Thaddeus is 1 year old! So adorable and charming (surely will attract many babes in future, *zztttt*)!! Surprised him with gifts, cake and card (hope he likes my colouring)! Not sure if he knows what's happening but one thing I know is that he is so happy. There is also a surprise for his mummy too. :)

Rose

I have been through so much *hit, just so tired. I know everyone has their own set of problems, mine's just another set. Some time ago, someone said to me, "Rulin, why do you keep smiling and encouraging others when inside is silently killing you bit by bit? Why do you laugh when you are not happy? Why do you portrait so jovial when inside you are not? Why do you keep everything to yourself? Why do you mask yourself?" Well, I don't know. May be it's just me.

Why let others be trouble with my problems? It seems that "I don't know" is my answer to many questions right now. Although I wish for someone who can really understand me better than myself. Eventually, I just don't wish that my problems will turn to someone else's burdens.

Don't you think a smile impact more than tears of sadness? Don't you think a happy face seem more beautiful than a sorrowful face? I smile, I laugh, I giggle because I choose to keep myself sane. I still prefer the jovial Rulin than the tearful Rulin. So don't worry, I am still happy somewhere inside me. :) Anyway, thank you for allowing me to relieve by my whinings.

Surin jiejie, thank you for the lovely rose. Most importantly, thank you for your presence.

Realisation

After late morning's doctor visit, Daddy & I decided to go for Jap lunch. We sat down and enjoyed the food (pardon, no pics as I was too hungry). I looked at my Daddy and realised he has aged. His hair was no longer dark black, the whites appeared more obvious and I could see wrinkles at the edge of his eyes. Although age is catching with Daddy, he is just as handsome. The love and concern he has for this daughter of his would not change even there are differences and disagreements. His love only increases. Likewise, as I grow older, I love him more each day. I realised parental love often at times is beyond comparable with the others. A realisation I cherished in this life of mine.

Looks is transitory but character is permanent. Feelings is transitory but love is eternal.

Beautiful morning

Lying on my bed with half opened eyes, awakened by the effulgent morning sun, I saw the tree pictured outside my window. It's not just a tree but a beautiful blooming tree. Bright sunshine rays illuminate the radiance of orangey flowers behind its green. A beautiful morning in remembrance.

Gleams of hope

Laudable local production

Stories Of Love, The Anthology Series, premieres Tuesday night @ 10pm. Personally, I felt that the exemplary collection of short stories has indeed impacted me. After watching the series, it left me wondering the depth of love, the bountifulness of love, the tolerance of love, the comfort of love, the magnanimity of love..... It's not just a tv show, but it's a life & love reflecting program. A meritorious production.

Can one stop loving in the event of knowing he/she may get hurt? Shall one tell the truth when it may tear the other's heart apart? How can one love again when the other has already died? Will it be too late to ask for forgiveness and to be loved again?

RIP - Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter

Yesterday afternoon when a gf msned me, saying that Steve Irwin died. He was stung by a stingray's barb in his chest while filming at the Great Barrier Reef. Initially, I thought she was kidding me, knowing well, we watched The Crocodile Hunter series when we were studying in Perth. She sent me the link to the devasting news, and there.... reality..

It was tough to accept his death. He feared no death, recollecting those crazy and daring stunts he put on his show (kissing venomous cobra, crocodiles, alligators). Steve's attitude towards nature was always so passionate and you can feel his enthusiasm in the shows, not forgetting his catchphrase "Crikey". This devoted conservationist and media star, will be missed.

My condolence to his family.

Eleven to Eleven

Rest is what I need at this moment for a few days at least. I manage to sleep from 11pm to 11am, a 12 hours sleep. The bed seems to be a good friend of mine since Monday. If I can math it altogether, I have spent 95% of my 24 hours on bed, 2% on meals, and 3% for shower & toilet visits.

[Reflection of the day - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8]
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones altogether;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Unwind

After sunday mass, Pris & I last minute decided to head down to East Coast Park. Went up her place to loan a top. Luckily, I was able to fit in her top, knowing she's skinny! Lunch was pretty healthy apart from the hokkien mee! :)

It's well spent time sitting on the bench, relaxing and chit chatting, simply unwinding before the hectic week starts for Pris and the tormenting visit I have to make on Monday. *sigh* No! I shall sigh no more!! Be of good cheer instead!! :)

"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."
