Pink = Sweet

Entire week in office was quiet. Why? Both my dearest colleagues are on leave, poor ru is left behind to 'jar gar' the office.

Got this during lunch, I was attracted by its pinkness! Kit Kat imported from Japan, 16 tiny blocks for $5.70. I must say it is sweet, just by nature pink is sweet. :) Check out the other flavours @ Kit Kat Breaktown.

Peek Hui's Wedding

After work, James, Ixo and myself attended Peek Hui's wedding. Wow, how time flies. Still recalled my conversation with her regarding the Catholic faith and baptism. And now, she is baptised and married. Congrats, dear gal! :) Wishing you and Clement forever love, joy and happiness! God bless you both and your future ones! :)

Baby Luke

During lunch, Ixo & myself went to visit baby Luke @ Gleneagles. He wasn't well, had been admitted on Friday night. Poor boy, got to have his phlegm sucked out twice daily. Even though he lost weight, he remained adorable and cute. :) We brought him his advanced birthday pressie to cheer him up. Happy 1st Birthday, baby Luke! God bless you with good health!

Tenacious D?!?!

Saturday wasn't all that good. Heated arguments drew me crazy and exhausted. I need a break to rest/cool off/let loose, keep myself silent and think, think, think.

I met Surin late, almost an hour plus. Why? Becoz of the above. She suggested Jerry's for dinner, seeing the sinful food made me better, less annoyed.

After Jerry's, Surin went back to my place, as we wanted to book movie tickets online. Wanted to watch Step Up but showtimes were over, leaving us with movies offering midnite session. Both of us were clueless to the movie, Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny. A huge mistake. B grade movie? Not anywhere near there, D grade I would give it. For anyone who intends to watch this movie, let me beg you to give yourself a second thought. Worst movie I ever watched!

Doffi

I will never forget my 1st date with Doffi @ Yuen Yeung Cafe Serangoon Gardens on Friday, its opening day. This cafe will always bring the memories of his sparkling eyes and adorable face. It's all quiet and chilly, a good time for a successful 1st date. Apart from the blushing, indeed it turned out great. I didn't regret meeting him.

He is simply irresistible to love, handsome to stare and cute to hug! But the sad thing is he cannot be mine, he belongs to Rachel. Nothing's ever gonna change that though he is only her only one, there are three more. So envious of her, I wish that I have one like Doffi, and look here, I ain't greedy just asking for one. Not too much to ask for right?

*Snapped* and back to reality, we waited for an hour plus for our food! Celia ordered Stir-fried instant noodle with chicken wings but it came without the wings, I ordered Baked cheese seafood pasta and Baked cheese pork chop pasta was served. Oh dear, so much so for our dinner. Well, we got to be more lenient as it's their first day of operation. But still, they should be more prepared and prevent themselves from such hiccups. The lady boss sincerely apologised and offered us drinks as her recovery strategy. Asking for our feedback, we informed her that the food tasted good but too oily. Rachel, Celia, lady boss and myself started chatting non-stop, we all have passion and love for dogs! :)

Daddy's Birthday

Celebrated Daddy's birthday on wednesday. We headed to Vivo City and boy, it's crowded. Flooded with parents and their kids, school holidays eh.... Didn't managed to watch the 430pm session for Casino Royale, as seats were only available for the 1st two rows (too near for daddy).

In the end, we headed to Lido for the 445pm session. It's funny as the cinema wasn't packed, I reckon it might be due to the temporary shutdown of their online booking system, causing low traffic flow. But thank God, we were able to watch the movie. :D

Dinner @ Peach Garden Novena, yummy indeed! Good service, friendly lady boss and great food! :D Happy Birthday, Daddy dearest! Wishing you good health, happiness and love! *muacks*

Chiangmai

A blink and trip to Chiangmai was over. Brought daddy for this 4 days short trip as his birthday pressie. I am very broke and officially have become a pauper. But nothing to complain, as it's my daddy I am talking about. Living each day and enjoying while time permits. Money can be earned, not loved ones.

At the immigration counter of Chiangmai International Airport, I saw Sylvester Stallone passing through the priority queue. This 60 year old muscular and well maintained man was there filming Rambo 4. A good superstar surprise for my first trip to Chiangmai.

This trip wasn't all enjoyable, it was indeed a hectic and tiring trip especially heading up to Chiangrai. The to and fro 7 hours ride was extremely unpleasant for daddy, his head was dizzy and neck was aching. And his tummy was giving him problems, must be too much chilli. No wonder he was throwing tantrum at me but it was bearable for me. The only unbearable thing I couldn't accept was the people speculating if I was his wife/mistress/kept-china woman. DO I LOOK THAT OLD? *sigh* Must be my dark eye rings and curly hair adding more years to my age. No offence to China women, but DO I LOOK LIKE ONE? How is it possible, my dad my hubby? Heaven no eyes la! Daddy even rubbed in further by acknowledging I am one of his kept women! Laughing away and feeling all young again! Well, just it didn't matter much as long as daddy is happy.

We stayed @ Novotel, which was about 15 minutes drive to the night bazaar. Thank goodness the hotel provides hourly shuttle but then again we didn't have much time to shop around due to the packed schedule.

I managed to meet Max, my long time SG friend of 8 years who resides in Chiangmai permanently and also Eli, an aussie friend who has stopped his backpacking trip for a break @ Chiangmai. Great meeting you both. :)

Pure coincidence I met Sharrie who was on duty on my return flight. It's been at least 8 months long since we met (when RL was in town). Back to reality, being a broke and averagely paid worker slogging 9 hours each day. *sigh* I need a long and easy-paced holiday.

What's your worth?

After church mass, I picked up Daddy & Uncle David for lunch and visited Uncle Michael.

A brief history of Uncle Michael's illness - He was warded to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in September for a month plus. He was unconscious after brain-related operation. After some weeks, he became conscious but his body and mind were not functioning well. It was saddening to see that he couldn't remember many of us. Various tests were conducted, but to our despair, the Doctors couldn't identify the virus that was attacking his brain. Somehow, it's a 'new' virus. Trial and error medications seemed the best bet by far even though some medications did cause adverse reactions. After many trials, he got better and was transferred to Ang Mo Kio Hospital for recuperation. Nearing a month, he got discharged automatically (deemed well by the Doctors).

This afternoon I was at his house and I couldn't help but to feel upset. He was temperamental towards all of us. He scolded us for making him stayed home and he insisted that he was appointed to see the Doctors at AMK Hospital today. We reasoned with him (his appointment was in Dec) but he got more agitated.

Uncle Michael instructed his son to continue calling up an old friend's mobile even when the line was unavailable. After several attempts, Uncle just concluded that his friend has died. From his comment thrown to this close fren of his, you could gauge how 'sound' he was. Aunt Helen was depressed and yet frustrated with her hubby's abnormalities, this unexpected 'bit' wasn't part and parcel of life. Aging is a natural process of life but not when it tags along with illness(es). Life would never be bitter if we could foresee what lies ahead. But it's becos of the uncertainty, our lives become the enriching experience level by level.

What could we learn if life is problem-free? Living would just be meaningless itself. Problems are placed in our lives but do handle each problem at the time with great caution and its slow reflection brings deeper meaningful learning. Remember we are not here alone by ourselves.

Today has been enriching, I have reminded myself again that it's not abt me, it's not abt my life, it's not abt I but it's abt others. Frequently, humans only live to see themselves in their little world that they forget the others around them.

What is your worth to others in need? A minute of your week or a dollar of your thousands or simply just 'N/A'?

Chasing Cars

A friday night, much to nothing, I was sitting down pondering over some stuff. As I was listening to Class 95 and it hit me when the DJ mentioned that the first love has its special place somewhere in your heart. Well, I definitely would not deny the fact that it is true, after all it was my First Love. And I do agree with her that for some people, their first love would make better as friend. I am still in contact with my first love (I should say my ex-first love), we have maintained a friendship. I value this friendship than the 'time immemorial' boy gal relationship.

For all of us who have failed in our first love, I am sure we have moved on. In this journey of mine, the failed relationships have shown my tolerance level of acceptance towards my partner. As long as One does not expect much, One will not disappoint much as well. :)

To find the perfect one in my life is simply marrying myself. I can search the whole world but will return disappointed again, because there will not be a perfect one for me. I am glad that the 'imperfect' one I am with, moulds me to be a better person.

For those who are still in the dream-perfect world (i.e. sure to find the perfect one), this song is for you! Seriously, you will do better chasing cars.

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Newton

It's my first visit to the newly (hmm...may be not so so new) renovated newton. A last minute invitation on Tuesday after work by Reggy & Pris, we ladies decide to join in as well.

Hmm.... It wasn't a plesant dinner becos the food we ordered from BBQ stall weren't fresh. Apart from the stinky chilli mussels, over-cooked stingray, over-satayed satays, everything else was good. As usual, I find the popiah nicest of them all. Prices have increased from $1.50 per roll to $1.80, still I would pay for it. :)

'Strip' the steak!

Daddy and I went to J8 for lunch and shopping on Sunday, I can't imagine we were there from 1pm to almost 6pm. But it's a fun outing with Daddy. :) I got the sudden urge to cook steak and to even bake a cake. But Daddy said I could only choose one (oh... why?), I went for the steak. Thanks to Daddy for helping me, I guessed he is more worried that his daughter would mess up the kitchen (his territory)! *giggles*

A relaxing sunday, enjoying the steak and unwinding with a glass of red.

Waraku

Finally, I managed to meet my dearest friend, Eileen, for a nice japanese dinner @ Waraku Cuppage, together with Caleb. A fast-tracking catch up session over our dinner for the past six months. We went to Reggy's stall nearby to pay him a visit and I was glad to see his stall packed on a Wednesday evening. Good food brings good business. :D

Only then, I realised it's 9pm! I wasn't the 9pm cinderalla, but the 9pm auntie to catch the chinese serial, The Enchanted Life. I could almost run to Eileen's place.

Thank you, Eileen for offering your place! *Hugs* Luckily, I only missed 5 minutes of the drama. *giggles*
