To the west

Yesterday afternoon I journey to the west, first NUS, then Jurong West & finally IMM. Drove past the Tang Dynasty, wondering what's inside this closed attraction. Does it look gloomy or is it just the weather?

The Hunt

It's been "half journey to the moon" I last met up with my pal, Albert. Finally on Sunday we met together with my gf, Pris. After lunch @ Millenia, I visited Cassandra's shop, East Zing, located @ Marina Square #03-301. Her shop has a good variety of products, consisting of accessories, clocks, lamps, cushions, aroma/therapeutic aids, and much more. Well, I have already given you a good reason to spend and indulge, so what's stopping you? :)

Albert and Pris accompanied me to Marquez Living, its showroom located @ 1 Pasir Panjang. Their indoor and outdoor furniture comprise of zen, modern, garden, poolside, and lounge categories. Personally, I like most of the stuff but still have yet to find something suitable for my room. :( The hunt continues.....

Finally, the 'half journey to the moon" lunch

Forbidden City : Portrait of An Empress

Last evening, Kit Chan, our local star, was at Tangs signing off autographs for her 'back by popular demand' muscial, Forbidden City, presented by Singapore Repertory Theatre and VizPro Entertainment. I would think this play is commendable since it is on second run. Anyone interested to watch?

The making of Forbidden City.

Tickets can be purchased at here.

Latest add-on to the farewell list

Yesterday, Celia, the most bubbly colleague of mine, has disclosed to me that she is leaving the Company as well. *sobs* Another negative impact to me. But don't worry, I am happy for you.

Thank you for your hospitality last night till so 'early'. Apart from the 'skips', it was fun watching the Memoirs of Geisha and watching you zonked out. *giggles*

Seriously I am missing those nice ex-colleagues whom I have termed myself with. Is it true that the bad ones stay on and good ones leave (and please hor, I don't belong to the black flock)? The number of farewells in this month is by far the most I have seen through the years in the Company.

There will always be constant changes in the work environment, management and Company's structure. I would think the level of One's tolerance is the core reasoning to resignation. Most resigned to the fact they just cannot accept certain work structure. Though I will miss my ex-colleagues, I know they will be better elsewhere. As the saying goes, the pasture is always greener on the other side. We all got to try before realising if it is really greener. :)

To all my ex-colleagues and Celia, the recent add-on to the list, you all will be missed. *hugs* All the best and we will stay in touch. One last thing, the size of TSC team FY 05/06 has reduced by half and I think soon enough can be zeroised.

Shopping, a slient killer??

How many girls can resist the temptation to shop? How many girls can avoid the malls when there are SALES everywhere? Sales is the additional tool to shopping, the silent killer. My recent buy, Novita Garment Steamer. No, this does not mean I am an auntie. Well, I take this steamer as an essential need and not a want. :)

And of course, I am happy to receive a gift, Lacoste polo tee. But it's not like the normal polo tees, this range gives my shoulders more puff with those victorian sleeves. :) This range is more ex than the normal ones. Smiling away with my new top.

Steam those creases away!

The chain reaction

It's a month of farewell lunches and dinners. Seeing more colleagues of mine leaving the company and also friends leaving Sg for work.

Goodbyes to my ex and soon to be ex-colleagues i.e. Evelyn, Rachel, Audrey, Joo Hoon, Nicholas and Linda. It's been great knowing you all! But I must say the 'wildness' (ok, craziness) from Evelyn & Rachel have sure cracked up my boring days (the 'paos'), not forgetting your lovely darling doggy! To all, you will be missed by me!! All the very best & God bless always!

Apologies in advance to Nicholas as I would not be able to make it for your farewell dinner but no worries, as the TSC members will still meet up for hatch days or who knows even wedding dinner (kidding).

It's great catching up with Neville Bebe, Darren & his babe Xiao Min (nice knowing you and of cos it's fun going around Level 1 with you). Darren, remember your promise to Nev, a good food map around Perth. Recalling what Nev said, no harm done by adding a few more inches to your current form. *giggles* And oh yea, would it be an Audi TT Roadster or Nissan Z Convertible? Anyway, you take good care & have fun over there!

Sweet tooth for the night @ Cheesecake Cafe - Peanut Butter Cheesecake Best!

Salty Drops

Finally, it's Friday, and I'm glad that we just had a wonderful seafood dinner @ Defu and had drinks @ Xin Wang Cafe Kovan.

These two ladies surely surprised me by giving me their handmade cards (Ixo, thank you for the binding effort). Tears rolled down my eyes, I couldn't be bothered by the eyes of many seated at the next table. I didn't tear becos I am sad. I simply tear becos their cards touched my heart. Apart from my exs, I don't recall ever receiving handmade cards from friends. I tear further becos of the written contents. I didn't know that I have impacted their lives. I couldn't see myself the ways my friends see me. I am so glad and thankful for their encouragement. I love you both! *hugs*

Happy 3rd Birthday

Celebrated Isabelle's birthday on the eve of National Day at Godma's house. Little Isabelle is such a doll and yet a tigress. A doll becos she is so sweet and loving to her 2nd elder bro, Isaac. Tigress as she would protect him in school.

It's amazing how intelligent the three year old can be nowadays. Times have changed. What a three year old knows now is comparable to a 1980's six year old knows back then.

I love Isabelle's birthday cake and you would know what i mean. :)

Wow! Nice cake!

Wasted calories

Rosso's Special

Girls only

No to Grilled Tofu Steak

No no to Oolong Chicken

Ok to Fried Smiley Fries

Round one at Cafe Rosso located in Holland Village, shared Rosso Special Fish Roe Pasta with Pris. The pasta sauce was rich to my liking (consists of mayonaise & butter). Although the serving's small, I would not recommend if you are not sharing, as you may feel 'jur lat' after a few mouths. Luckily, the rose bud tea washed away the richness. Round two somewhere else was a must (*sigh* with regrets).

We headed to Essential Brew; somewhere along the main road of HV. It was my first & last visit, I guessed it's the same for Pris as well. Very disappointed with the food. We ordered Grilled Tofu Steak (recommended), Oolong Chicken and later on, added Smiley Fries. The best dish turned out to be the Fried Smiley Fries (you can purchase from supermarket @ frozen food section). The tofu steak and oolong chicken tasted terrible and weird, sauces were extremely sweet. The weird after-taste 'sensation' impacted me negatively. Yucky! The reality hurts cos it's the truth and I hope to warn you before you experience such an ordeal like me.

The White Peony Tea was safe, basically hot teas should be safe. But don't ask me about their customised cold shakes and freezes. I wouldn't want to take the risk. Anyway, they should improve on their culinary skills. Thank goodness, the smiley fries somehow initiated some smiles in us.

What is it all about?

In this given life, what would One possibly want out of it all?

To strive hard in career?
To fulfill One's dream?
To make lots of (i meant lots of) $$$?
To retire 'young'?
To take each day at a time?
To spend whatever earned?
To party on?
To stay worry-free (impossible with current living standard)?

Seriously, I have acquired the mentality of taking life as it is, knowing I cannot change the happenings in my life. Well, I cannot bring anything with me when time's up. So earning all the $$ won't buy me a place up there. It's the Faith which One has to hold on to no matter how bad times are. Death is a stage where all of us will have to experience, it's a matter of the types of death encountered (natural, accidental, illness, etc). Thus, live a good life with no regrets.
